Adapted from Tom Tobbins' magical and much-loved novel by acclaimed filmmaker Gus Van Sant, "Even Cowgirls Get The Blues" is a psychedelic journey of sexual and social discovery, as well as a fantasia on the role of the thumb in the evolution of the human species.

Gus Van Sant's film, accompanied by the rich vocals and melodic score of k.d. lang and collaborator Ben Mink, transforms Tom Robbins' cult classic into a richly textured and culturally unique film experience.
