Wonderful World" was released in the United Kingdom by Sony Music
on June 23rd, and k.d. & Tony appeared on "So
Graham Norton" Thursday June 26th. They
performed two songs & were interviewed by Graham. k.d.
& Tony announce Wonderful World Tour dates in AustraliaTWO GREAT SINGERS – ONE SPECIAL CONCERT EVENT TICKETS ON SALE – THURSDAY 31 JULY 2003 Multiple Grammy winners Tony Bennett and k.d. lang team up for a limited number of very special concerts. The tour will play the intimate concert halls in Melbourne and Brisbane before finishing up at the spectacular Sydney Opera House. Bennett and lang will perform songs from their platinum selling duet album – A Wonderful World. The album contains tracks inspired by Louis Armstrong and is produced by T Bone Burnett. It has been described by the New York Times as ‘endlessly listenable…it leaves you feeling nurtured and uplifted’. Not only will the audience get to experience these two amazing talents together on stage, both Bennett and lang will perform some of their own hit songs separately. Expect such greats as ‘I Left My Heart In San Francisco’, ‘Steppin’ Out With My Baby’ and ‘The Best Is Yet To Come’ from Bennett and favourites from lang such as ‘Don’t Smoke In Bed’, ‘Wash Me Clean’ and ‘3 Cigarettes In An Ashtray’. Bennett, a nine-time Grammy winner, has only the highest praise for k.d. lang and says, “k.d. lang is the greatest singer of her generation, the best singer since Judy Garland.” Lang, a three-time Grammy winner herself, remarks, “It’s all about singing and I am totally excited. Wonderful Worldk.d. lang & Tony Bennett released "A Wonderful World" an album of duets on November 5th, 2002. The thirteen songs, including "What A Wonderful World", "La Vie En Rose", "Exactly Like You", "A Kiss To Build A Dream On", and "You Can't Lose A Broken Heart", are all associated with Louis Armstrong and were recorded over three days (April 30, May 1 & 2) with the Tony Bennett Quartet and a 30-piece Orchestra, by producer T Bone Burnett.
